Suzuki Overview
The Suzuki Motor Corporation, founded by Michio Suzuki in Japan made its first compact prototype cars in 1937. These cars were installed with four-stroke, four-cylinder, liquid cooled-engines. Today, Suzuki is one of the biggest car makers in the world, producing automobiles, motorcycles, and more.
Suzuki in Pakistan
Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited (PSMCL) was established in 1983 and is a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corp. It is the biggest car manufacturer in Pakistan.
Models & Generations
Current Suzuki models are:
Suzuki Alto (New Alto) - The New Alto replaced the old Alto in 2019. The 8th generation Alto (660cc) comes in three variants - VX, VXR, VXL.
Suzuki Cultus - In 2017, the 2nd generation of Cultus was launched in Pakistan. It comes in two variants - VXR and VXL.
Suzuki Wagon R - The new Wagon R (2nd generation) was launched in 2014. It comes in three variants - VX, VXR, VXL. It is offered in six colors. It comes equipped with a 998cc, three-cylinder engine, which produces 67 hp and 90 Nm of torque.
Suzuki Swift- Currently the 3rd/4th generation of Swift is being offered locally. It was launched in February 2022. It comes in three variants - Swift GL, Swift GL CVT and Swift GLX CVT. Suzuki Swift is available in six colors. The hatchback comes equipped with a 1.2L engine.
Suzuki Bolan- A mini MPV, Bolan is also popularly called Carry Daba. It was launched in the early 1990s and since then it has remained unchanged. Currently, the 2nd generation Bolan comes equipped with a 0.8L, three-cylinder, four-stroke engine. It is available in manual transmission only.
Suzuki Ravi- Ravi is the pickup version of Bolan. Rest is the same as Bolan’s.
