Hyundai Overview
Hyundai is among the top automobile manufacturers in the world. This South Korean automobile manufacturer first came to Pakistan in the late 1990s (1998) in collaboration with Dewan Farooque Motor Company Limited (DFML). Its vehicles like Shahzore (pickup) and Santro (hatchback) were highly popular for a long time in the country. The company had to end its operations in the country after Dewan Farooque Motors went bankrupt in 2008.
After the first Automotive Development Policy of Pakistan (2016-21), Hyundai came back to Pakistan by partnering with Nishat Group. Currently, it is a joint venture among Nishat Group, Sojitz Corporation (Japan) and Millat Tractors Ltd. After its re-entry in Pakistan, the company revealed Grand Starex (4-door Van), Santa Fe (Premium SUV), Porter H-100 (pickup), and Hyundai Ioniq (hybrid) in 2019-20. After that, it launched the 3rd gen Hyundai Tucson in 2020. Then in 2021, it launched the 6th gen Elantra 2.0 (2019 facelift) and 8th gen Sonata. The latest addition is Staria (5-door van / MPV) launched in 2022.

Hyundai Porter H100 is the next generation (4th) of the Hyundai Shehzore (3rd gen). It has a 2.6L Euro II diesel natural aspirated, single overhead camshaft, 2 valves / cylinder engine that produces around 78 hp and 167 torque. This pickup comes with 4539 mm2 load area and 1 Ton load bearing capacity. It comes in three variants (High-Deck, Flat-Deck, and Deckless).
Hyundai Porter Generations
Its 1st generation came in 1977 and remained till 1981.
The 2nd generation came in 1986 and production ended in 1996.
Its 3rd generation (Shehzore) was introduced in 1996 and is still being produced in some countries.
Porter H 100 is the 4th and latest generation introduced in 2004 and still being produced.
The 6th gen Elantra 2.0 (2019 facelift) was introduced in 2021 in Pakistan. It was the first sedan introduced by the company in Pakistan. Later on, the company introduced its 1.6L variant in 2022. ABS, remote tailgate opener, central locking, speed sensing door lock, security alarm, electric side mirrors, sunroof, airbags, digital instrument cluster, auto light control, camera, etc. are some of their common features.
Hyundai Elantra Generations
The 1st generation Elantra was introduced in 1990 and remained until 1998.
The 2nd generation Elantra came in 1995 and its production ended in 2000.
The 3rd generation came in 2000 and remained in production until 2009.
Its 4th generation came in 2006 and production ended in 2020. It is still being produced in Egypt.
The 5th generation Elantra was introduced in 2010 and remained in production until 2018.
Its 6th generation came in 2015 and its facelift is still being produced in Pakistan. Its production ended Globally in 2021.
The 7th generation Elantra was introduced in 2021 and it is still being produced.
Hyundai Tucson is among the most popular crossover SUVs in Pakistan that was introduced in 2020. It comes in two variants (FWD A/T GLS Sport and AWD A/T Ultimate). Currently, its 3rd generation is available in Pakistan. But globally, its 4th generation is already launched. Its in-line 4-cylinder MPI 1999cc engine coupled with 6-speed automatic transmission produces around 155 hp and 196 N.m torque.

Hyundai Ioniq is a hybrid introduced in 2020 in Pakistan. It was introduced in 2016 and is still being produced. It has a 1,580cc GDi gasoline engine (produces 102.5 hp and 147 N.m torque). It also has a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) (produces 43 hp and 170 N.m torque). Hyundai Ioniq comes in only 1 variant (GLS).
