Originating from Waziristan, a remote area in northeastern Pakistan near Afghanistan, these beautiful shawls were made in the 20th century. Waziristan is famous for its traditional weaving. Local artisans expertly combine colorful stripes to create unique textiles. The shawls usually have a dark background with bright colors added for decoration. Both men and women wear these traditional Waziri shawls.
