Description
Job Title: Veterinarian – Reproduction and Nutrition Department (DVM) [CONTACT NUMBER AHEAD] Location: Rawalpindi Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Rs 120,000 (can be negotiated based on experience) Position Overview: As a Veterinarian in the Reproduction Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the reproductive health of our dairy herd, implementing breeding programs, overlooking Nutrition and Feeding Management and collaborating with our farm management team to improve overall herd performance. This role requires strong expertise in dairy cattle reproduction, herd health management, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare. Key Responsibilities: -Manage and oversee the reproductive health program for the dairy herd, including estrus detection, artificial insemination, and pregnancy diagnosis. -Develop and implement breeding strategies to optimize herd fertility and genetics. -Perform routine reproductive health exams and treatments for cows and heifers. -Monitor and assess reproductive performance data to make informed recommendations and adjustments to breeding programs. -Advise farm management on herd health, including nutrition, disease prevention, and treatment protocols. -Maintain accurate and detailed records on all reproductive activities, treatments, and interventions. -Collaborate with other farm personnel and external partners to ensure optimal herd performance. -Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in dairy reproduction. -Ensure the overall well-being of the herd, focusing on proper nutrition, housing, and living conditions. Address any issues related to the environment, such as overcrowding or poor ventilation, which could affect health. Qualifications: -Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution. -Proven experience in dairy cattle reproduction, with a strong understanding of artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis, and herd fertility management. -Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. -Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with farm personnel and management. -Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. -A valid veterinary license to practice in Pakistan.
