The typewriter was manufactured in the 1970s, in Japan.
The portable Silver – Reed SR180 De Luxe retains all its functions and works well. The keys are light and snappy when typing and this provides a satisfying feedback to the typist. Each line end is announced by a strong ‘Ding’ sound of the bell.
This model is designed with symbols for pounds sterling and dollars.
The machine is ready to use straight out of the box. It comes with the original black case which has a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is good. The typewriter operates as intended. Minor signs of age and use are present, particularly on the top black panel above the platen (roller) – please refer to photos.
The Silver – Reed SR180 De Luxe typewriter would suit typists of any profession with any level of typing skills. It would also make a good first machine for a novice typist. If you are looking for a present for any occasion, this typewriter could be ideal.
