Key Responsibilities: •Blueprint Analysis: Review and analyze architectural and engineering blueprints to determine project scope, materials, and labor requirements. •Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and other project-related expenses. •Quantity Takeoffs: Perform precise quantity takeoffs from blueprints using estimating software and manual calculations. •Bid Preparation: Develop and submit competitive bid proposals for clients, ensuring all specifications and project requirements are met. •Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with project needs. •Project Budgeting: Assist in developing and maintaining project budgets to ensure cost control throughout construction. •Client & Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to discuss project details and clarify estimation assumptions. •Market Research: Stay updated on current construction costs, trends, and material pricing to maintain accurate and competitive estimates. •Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and propose solutions to minimize unforeseen cost overruns. Qualifications & Skills: •Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in residential and commercial construction. •Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred but not required). •Blueprint Proficiency: Strong ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings accurately. •Software Knowledge: Proficiency in estimating software (such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and project management tools. •Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct detailed quantity takeoffs. •Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present estimates and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors. •Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in estimating costs and reviewing bid specifications. •Time Management: Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: •Experience working with general contractors, developers, and design professionals. •Knowledge of local building codes, construction regulations, and permitting requirements. •Certification in Construction Estimating or Cost Engineering (such as AACE or ASPE) is a plus.
