An interesting, WW1 era Catholic military chaplain’s crucifix, sometimes referred to as a ‘Last Rites’ cross. The cross has a Ebony core, set in a nickel frame and closed back. The front has the depiction of the crucified Jesus, and a skull and crossbones gal gotha The intersection on the reverse also has an applied sacred heart motif, which is predominantly used in the Catholic religion.
